Challenger 605
Tail Cone Replacement, Windows and Cabin Redesign. _____________________________________________________________________________
tail cone replacement
The tail cone is an auxiliary fuel tank which has been redesigned. There are three auxiliary fuel tanks in the belly, one saddle tank, and the tail tank. Combined they hold more fuel than the wings.
WINDOW redesign
Windows are 2" longer and mounted 2.5" higher than in the 604, and the window reveals are redesigned. The result is greater off-board visibility and greater ambient light flooding the cabin giving the perception of a larger cabin.
cabin redesign
The cabin was fully rethought and redesigned to what some are
calling a scaled down version of the Global 5000 interior.
The Passenger Service Unit (PSU) was redesigned to provide more
headroom and cabin volume while integrating all systems in one
location. The new design conceals PSU equipment from line of sight and
the new ceiling liner design increases head space 2 inches at the PSU.
New Light Emitting Diode (LED) Lighting.
The pull-out table's mechanism was redesigned to provide increased
stiffness
without increasing weight, and the side ledge raises to match the
pullout table surface providing a greater continuous working surface.
The galley was redesigned for increased functionality. There is a 30%
increase in cold storage, 23% increase in the waste bin size, an 8%
increase in counter space, and a 15% increase in work surface with the
two optional pull-out tables. The galley touch screen, a Next
Generation 8.4” SVGA panel (800 x 600) display located on the upper
aft galley column, controls the digital ethernet based Cabin
Electronic System (CES) and provides control over interior systems.
The digiital, Ethernet-based, cabin electronic system (CES) supports

- Two 18-inch bulkhead mounted cabin monitors
- 8 speaker audio system
